I Broke My Trunk by Mo Willems

再來一本我們熱愛的 an Elephant & Piggie book 系列,

當初喜歡這本, 除了是內容實在太搞笑了外, 再來就是用來讓女兒區分 The Giving Tree 裡的 trunk 是和 Gerald 的 trunk 是不一樣的哦.

故事在說, 這一天, Piggie 在想 Gerald 怎不見人影呢, 才一說, Gerald 就負傷上演.

Piggie: Gerald, what happened to your trunk? 兄弟, 你的鼻子怎麼了?!

Gerald: I broke my trunk.  俺的鼻子受傷了...

Piggie: How did you break your trunk? 你是怎麼受傷的呀?

Gerald: It is a long crazy story. 說起來挺瘋狂的, 要講很久耶.

Piggie: Tell it! Tell it! 快說! 快說! 我要聽!

Gerald: well... I was playing with Hippo. Then I had an idea! I wanted to lift Hippo unto my trunk. 嗯, 是這樣的, 我在和Hippo 一起玩時, 我忽然有個法, 我想用鼻子把 Hippo 舉起來.

Piggie: Why? 為什麼? 然後然後呢?

Gerald: Because! 也沒為什麼麼呀, 就想啊.

Piggie: Okay. 繼續快繼續!

Gerald: So I lifted Hippo onto my trunk. But a Hippo on your trunk is very heavy. 所以我就用鼻子把Hippo 舉起來了, 但是, 那真的是很夠重的啦!

Piggie: Is that how you broke your trunk? 太重了, 所以你的鼻子就斷了嗎?

Gerald: No. There is more to my store. 不! 故事還沒有說完哦.
           Then, Rhino showd up. Rhino wanted a turn.  後來 Rhino 也來了, 他也想要舉高高.

Piggie: What did you do? 那你怎麼作?

Gerald: I lifted both of them onto my trunk? 我就把他們二個一起舉高高了啊.
           But, a hippo and a rhino on your trunk are very heavy. 但他們二個實在實在太重了.

Piggie: Is that how you broke your tunk? 實在太重了, 所以你的鼻子就斷了嗎?

Gerald: No! 不!
